Cookies & Tracking Policy
This page lists everything hypermb.com stores in your browser, and when. Optional tracking stays off unless you turn it on, and you can change your mind at any time with .

01 / What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which keep data in the browser in the same way. The law treats them all alike: anything that is not strictly necessary needs your consent first.
02 / Technologies used by HyperMB
HyperMB uses first-party cookies for your language and privacy choice. If you accept Analytics, PostHog also uses cookies, local storage and session storage. There are no advertising, social media or cross-site tracking cookies.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration | When it is set |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| hypermb-consent | HyperMB | Remembers your privacy choice: a version number, whether Analytics and Session Replay are allowed, and when you chose. No identifier. | Cookie (first-party) | 180 days | When you make or change a choice |
| hypermb-language | HyperMB | Remembers the language you selected: en or ro. | Cookie (first-party) | 1 year | Only when you use the language switch |
| ph_<project-key>_posthog | PostHog | A random visitor ID and the current session ID, so pageviews and events can be grouped into visits. | Cookie (hypermb.com and subdomains) | 180 days | Analytics accepted |
| ph_<project-key>_posthog_cpm | PostHog | Records which PostHog properties are kept in the cookie above. | Cookie (hypermb.com and subdomains) | 180 days | Analytics accepted |
| ph_<project-key>_posthog | PostHog | The full PostHog state: visitor and session IDs, first referrer and landing page, and the project settings PostHog downloaded. | localStorage | Until cleared, or when you withdraw consent | Analytics accepted |
| __ph_opt_in_out_<project-key> | PostHog | Records that you allowed Analytics, so PostHog only runs with your consent. | localStorage | Until cleared, or when you withdraw consent | Analytics accepted |
| ph_<project-key>_posthog, …_window_id, …_primary_window_exists, …_session_registered_properties | PostHog | Tell browser tabs apart and hold per-tab session details. | sessionStorage | Until the tab is closed | Analytics accepted |
| hypermb:contact-source | HyperMB | The page and link that led you to the contact page, sent with contact-form analytics events. | sessionStorage | Until the tab is closed | Analytics accepted, after following a link to Contact |
<project-key> is HyperMB's public PostHog project key. It identifies the site's PostHog project, not you.
03 / Necessary storage
hypermb-consent remembers your privacy choice so the banner doesn't return on every page. hypermb-language remembers the language you picked with the language switch, and is only set when you use it. Without it, the site follows the language your browser asks for, which is never stored. Neither contains an identifier, and neither needs consent: one stores your consent preferences, the other a setting you asked for. Both are always on.
04 / Analytics
Analytics shows how visitors find and use the site: pages viewed, navigation, clicks, performance and errors. It is off by default. Before you accept it, the PostHog script is not even downloaded.
05 / PostHog
PostHog, Inc. provides both Analytics and Session Replay, using PostHog Cloud EU. Its cookies and storage keep a random visitor ID and session details so events can be grouped into visits. Requests go through hypermb.com/ingest, which forwards them to PostHog. See the Privacy Policy for what is collected, where it is processed and for how long.
Because PostHog is a third party, you can also block it in your browser settings by clearing or blocking cookies and site data for hypermb.com.
06 / Session Replay
Session Replay records privacy-protected interactions so usability and technical issues can be watched back. Typed text is masked in your browser, the contact form is never recorded, and console messages and network request contents are not captured. It uses the same PostHog storage as Analytics and cannot be on without it.
07 / Storage duration
- Your privacy choice is kept for 180 days. After that, or if HyperMB's use of optional tracking changes materially, you are asked again.
- PostHog cookies expire after 180 days. Local storage lasts until cleared, and is removed when you withdraw Analytics. Session storage ends when you close the tab.
08 / Your choices
- Reject optional: only necessary storage is used. The site works exactly the same.
- Accept optional: Analytics and Session Replay are both on.
- Manage preferences: turn Analytics and Session Replay on or off separately.
You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings, usually under Privacy or Site data. Blocking the hypermb-consent cookie means the banner will ask again on your next visit.
09 / How to change your preferences
Open — also in the footer and the menu on every page. Turning Analytics off also turns Session Replay off, stops PostHog immediately and removes its cookies and storage. Turning only Session Replay off stops recording immediately and keeps standard analytics.
10 / Updates to this policy
This page changes whenever the storage the site uses changes, and the date at the top changes with it.
